The house is located in a area with beautiful nature and a huge range of options for people interested in Walking/Hiking. In addition to the area around Frejus, Roquebrune-Sur-Argens and La Bouverie, you also have the beautiful Esterel Mountains, and the pretty French Riviera coastline.
In the house there are 3 books with many proposals for walks, including instructions. Below you will find some of the recommended hikes around the house which are available on the internet:

| Wooded hills of the Maures Mountains | “While the town has marked a few trails for the pleasure of its visitors, I especially like this mostly unmarked hike because of the variety of views: the Rocher de Roquebrune, the gurgling river la Petite Maurette, the mountains of l’Escaillon, la Haute Cavalière, la Cavalière and the wonderfully weird hermit shelter…” -From Azuralive |
Roquebrune-Sur-Argens | Map (15 min) |
| The Balcony of the Mediterrane (GR51) | GR51 footpath, also called the Balcony of the Mediterranean. This “chemin de Grande Randonnée” or long-distance footpath crosses the French Riviera East-West, settling its tracks on hill crests with tasty views. | Starting point for many different hikes | This is a starting point for all kinds of great hikes right by Roquebrune-sur-Argens. Hiking trails are plentiful (the GR51 crosses by just north of here) and they offer some fantastic views of the Maures and the Rocher de Roquebrune.
This is the same starting point as the previous hike above. |

| Cap Roux Hike | The first half of this hike is on paved roads (closed to traffic); the upper part on trails. Trail marking for the upper part is poor to nonexistent, so a map is necessary. With a map, if you do go wrong, the many alternate trails will work as well as the planned route. | Between St.Raphael and Cannes | Map (50 min) |
| La Motte has a nifty little trail that heads to a water fountain called le Saut du Capelan (the priest’s dive). This is where the Nartuby river, a river that begins and ends entirely within the Var department, plunges some 22 meters to a splash and a rumble. The loop from the main village to the waterfall and back runs about 3 kilometers and takes about one hour. It’s well-marked from the center of town. | La Motte Centre |
Esterel Mountains
Located between the Mediterranean coast and Provence, the Estérel is a volcanic range that covers 32,000 hectares, including 14,000 protected hectares. Rhyolite, an igneous rock formed in the Paleozoic era, gives the mountains their striking red colour. Guided or self-tours are available for mountain bikers, horseback riders and hikers: Link
