Daytrips by car – Gorges du Verdon

Lac de Saint-Croix, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, and Gorges du Verdon

This is a wonderful daytrip where you get to see the beautiful Gorge du Verdon from many different angels and viewpoints. You start by driving though the beautiful Provencal landscapes north towards Gorges du Verdon. It is approximately a 2 hour drive to Moustieres-Sainte-Marie where you will stop for lunch. The Village is voted one of the most beautiful villages in Provence, so it is well worth setting aside an extra hour or two to walk around this lovely little village. If you start early and have your bathing gear with you it is also tempting to take a bath in the beautiful Lac de Sainte-Croix. After lunch the route will take you to the most beautiful viewpoints where you can see the Gorges du Verdon in all it’s beauty.
