Located on the foothills of the Esterel mountains, this peaceful hilltop village is inhabited by just over 2,300 people. And if you travel from La Bouverie to Bagnols-en-Foret by car, the views are spectacular as you travel up the Gorges-du-Blavet mountainside.
The climate is softened by the summer breeze that crosses the Pico Gardiette and refresh you when you are seated at one of the terrace restaurants Bistrot and En Face, that both welcomes you on the shaded central square. One of these restaurants is the perfect place for a provensal lunch, but remember the timing. In Provence lunch is served beween 12 – 14:30 only!
Check out this guide providing a detailed guide on how to visit Bagnols-en-Foret by car, including amazing views from the Gorges-du-Blavet, and winetasting at local vinyards along the way….
In Bagnols-en-Foret you can also buy wine directly from the pumps at the ‘Cooperative Vinicole’. Current price is 1.30 Euro pr liter and there are three pumps available – red, rose and rouge. We would especially recommend the rose which is a decent quality table wine. You can also buy higher quality wines at great prices at this wine co-operative, owned by the wine-makers themselves.
