Description
The beautiful harbor and canal town of Port Grimaud is located between Sainte-Maxime and St. Tropez and it is one of the most visited tourist towns in France.

Architect Francois Spoerry took inspiration from Venice when he started creating Port Grimaud in the 1960’s.
The largely car-free city has a completely unique atmosphere that can be experienced through a walk or even better; but a canal tour. The boats are open and take around 20 passengers. They leave every 20 minutes and the price is 6 EUR for adults and 3 EUR for children. For location click on the link at the top of this page. The trip take approx 30 minutes.
Hire your own small electrical boat
There is also another fun option, especially if you have children. You can rent your own small electrical boat which takes up to 5 persons. The cost is 30 Euro for 30 minutes, and for a small family it is good fun since the boat is very easy to operate and the children can be “Captains” and navigate the boat. Good fun, also on days when the weather is not perfect. The electrical boat can be rented from this location, right next to where the bigger sightseeing boats depart.

North of Port Grimaud lies a beautiful and long beach with fine and light sand. In the northern part of the beach there are a couple of beach bars, whilst the southern part of the beach is much quieter and here is a very good restaurant in the middle of the beach, where sun loungers and parasols are also rented out.
There are many restaurants around Port Grimaud, including some on the largest square, Place de Marché and the neighboring square at Pont de la Poterne. For a light meal, Rialto Pizza is nice.
Sights and activities
Port Grimaud is a huge attraction all by itself. It is completely unique with its canals, beautiful houses and cosy streets. All of this is best experienced on a the canal tours which are going continously throughout the day. There is no need to prebook, but please ensure you have cash available for payments.
Panorama views from the Church tower
You can also get a good overview of the whole Part Grimaud from the Church tower. But you need to have 1 Euro coins available since you need to put 1 Euro pr. person into the entrance gate in order to get into the tower which is located right next to the sightseeing and electrical boats. Here is the exact location of the church
