Sillans la Cascade is a small town in the South of France, famous mostly for its fantastic 42 meters high waterfall. The waterfall is located 10 minutes away from the village. When you get in Sillans la Cascade, try to park your car next to the school where you’ll find the start of the trail that leads to the waterfall. From the parking lot, head to the school, and keep right at the fork. The path is named “Le Cour”. Follow it all the way to the end, and you’ll end up on a nice viewing platform, right in front of the waterfall.
Swimming is now forbidden in the main waterfall, but the water from the waterfall then flows to a couple of small lakes. If you want to swim, you can head down to these lakes

Tips for your visit to Sillans la Cascade
If you plan to visit Sillans la Cascade and its waterfall, you’ll find below several tips to help you make the most out of your visit:
- parking is not free: make sure to pay for your parking, it’s around 1€ for 1h30. The town regularly gives parking tickets if you haven’t paid, or even if you stay a bit longer than what you paid for. Plan ahead and pay for extra time for some peace of mind
- go at sunrise: the place gets crowded pretty quick, as it’s quite small. If you want to experience the waterfall without anyone, wake up early and go there for sunrise
- there are no lights at the waterfall, so pack a headlamp if you plan to go for sunrise or sunset when it’ll be dark
