Description
You start off by driving to Tiki Plage where there is a big parking lot. Parking is free, and if I remember correctly it is open until 21:00. The beach is really nice so if not everyone wants to go on the trail, it is possible for those in a non-walking mood to stay at the beach and relax. There is also a really nice beach resturant, actually rated as the 4th best resturant in the area:
But the Cap Dramont walking trail is the gem of this area. You start walking along the coastline. The small cliffs are beautiful but not yet very dramatic, but it is tempting already now to stop every 40 meters to take many photos. At least I did…
As you walk along the costline, the scenery becomes much more dramatic and the famous red cliffs Cap Dramont is so famous for appears. The views are breathtaking – here are some of my personal photo’s:
And at the top of the mountain you can enjoy a nice view all the way from St. Tropez to Agay. In the background you see the ‘Esterel mountains’ and Cap Roux:
The trail is easy to walk. There are no difficult or steep parts on the trail outlined at the top of this article. It is also a nice trail for children, even though you may need to hold their hand in one or two passages. This is one of my all time favorite trails, and if you combine it with swimming and beach lounging at Tiki Plage, or cliff jumping from the intense red cliffs into the deep blue sea, you are set for a perfect day in the sun! Please note that the highest top of the mountain is military area and closed off to the public. This is why this part is not included in the recommended trail.
Isle D’or
When walking the Dramont, make sure to get a good view of this famous little island. It is not privately owned, so it is not possible to visit. This island was the inspiration for Tintins adventure to the “Black Island”.

Climbing the Cap Dramont
Cap Dramont is also an attrative mountain for climbers. The intense red cliffs combined with the deep blue sea in the background creates a special atmosphere
